It’s been a while since I’ve been out building. I sprained my ankle (4th times a charm!) while on vacation and I’ve been doing my best to stay away from uneven ground. I returned to the trails to see all of the fantastic work that has been going on and I’m thrilled to say that we’re almost at the Runway. This week we hosted our new friends from the Brant Cycling Club. Quickly, they’re a new club that has come together to bring cycling and mountain biking to the Brantford region in a more formal capacity. Today, we got the chance to share our trails knowledge and they got the chance to get their hands dirty!
As always, special thanks to Krys at Domestique for donating a pot of coffee to the trail building effort – a warm cup of coffee goes a long way to putting more kilometers up at Christie Lake.
Thanks to all who came out today! We had a great time and we hope to see you all again – if not here at Christie Lake, maybe in Brantford!
Next week – we’re going to make the big push to reach the Runway. If you haven’t been out for a while, don’t miss your chance. We’re about to make contact and open up a large section of trail.
Trail building is a great draw for me to come up to Christie Lake, but finding something new along the way makes this journey even better. I’ve trained my eyes to look for things in the smallest of places and I’ve seen some pretty neat things.
